Coming Home: Relaxing Into Where We’ve Always Been
with Susan Stone

We’ve never left our true home. It just feels that way. Our busy lives reinforce the notion that there’s somewhere to go, something to attain, and someone who needs to do it all. How do we come home to our true nature? This retreat will examine this paradox from a practice perspective. The retreat will include Dharma talks, guidelines for unconstructed meditation, group discussion, and individual interviews in order to explore how an understanding and integration of the principles of nondualism deepen our Vipassana practice while uncovering bodhicitta (the awakened mind-empty heart) in our daily lives.

Jhanas Retreat
with Leigh Brasington

The retreat will emphasize the application of the meditative absorptions in a regular sitting practice and is suitable only for experienced meditators with prior retreat experience. The Jhanas, commonly called the meditative absorptions, are a method of one-pointed concentration taught in Theravaden Buddhism. The retreat will emphasize the teaching of this technique plus its application to insight (Vipassana) practice. The retreat will be held in Noble Silence with sitting and walking meditation and personal interviews. Practice in the meditative absorptions provides a strong and stable foundation for the arising and understanding of the experience of insight.
